Abstract: The results of studies on the synthesis and transformations of uronic acid nucleosides are surveyed. Various pathways leading to the synthesis of uronic acid nucleoside are examined, including methods involving specific and nonspecific oxidation of nucleosides, and the glycosylation and modification of the sugar residue or the heterocyclic base. The bibliography includes 97 references.
