Abstract:
The use of hydride forming metals and alloys as hydrogen acceptors in order to overcome the thermodynamic limitations in catalytic reactions involving the evolution of hydrogen is examined. The high effectiveness of intermetallic hydrogen acceptors in reactions involving the dehydrogenation of cycloalkanes, isobutane, and alcohols (C1-C3), and the aromatisation of alkanes (C2-C3 ) is noted. The bibliography includes 36 references.
