Abstract: Data on the chemistry of compounds of the spiro[2.4]hepta-4,6-dienes series are surveyed and described systematically. The methods of their synthesis, the characteristic features of their reactivity, and their principal chemical reactions are examined. The applications of spiro[2.4]hepta-4,6-dienes in specific organic synthesis are noted. The bibliography includes 230 references.
