Abstract: Data on the carbene reactions of diazoesters with carbon-hydrogen, heteroatom–hydrogen, carbon–carbon, carbon–heteroatom, and heteroatom–heteroatom σ-bonds in organic molecules, demonstrating the synthetic possibilities of such reactions as an effective and universal method of the alkoxycarbonylmethylenation of organic compounds, are considered systematically. The bibliography includes 179 references.
