Abstract: The correlations between the retention parameters and the physicochemical properties of sorbates are examined and the possibility of their use for the identification of compounds in gas-liquid chromatography is discussed. It is shown that the chromatographic retention can be most accurately fitted by multifactorial equations based on structural and topological parameters. The bibliography includes 256 references.
