Abstract:
The phenomenon of induced optical activity (IOA) is briefly described. The IOA that occurs in complexes of cyclodextrines (CYDs) with achiral and chiral organic molecules is examined. The types of information obtained using chiroptical spectroscopic methods are described. It is shown how these methods in conjunction with the theoretical representation of this phenomenon can be used to obtain information about the fine structure of the complexes, including the orientation of the "guest" molecule in the cavity of the "host" molecule, the formation of two-guest complexes, and the selection of chiromers by complexation. The bibliography includes 188 references.
