Electrochemistry of transition metal single crystals with well defined surfaces
G. V. Khaldeev, T. A. Syur Perm State University
Abstract:
The effect of extended defects of the surface of metallic single crystals on the electrochemical processes of dissolution and formation of a new phase has been analysed. Theoretical ideas on the rearrangement of a crystal surface (phase transitions of the second kind) during the adsorption of surface-active substances are presented. The reconstruction (faceting) of the surface under the influence of electrochemical processes and the adsorption of nucleophilic species (hydrogen, oxygen, halogen ions) from the gas phase and from electrolytes on a well defined metal single crystal surface have been evaluated. The bibliography includes 94 references.
