Investigation of the x-ray emission spectrum of a laser plasma with the aid of nuclear emulsions

Abstract:
A method was developed for determining the 5–20 keV x-ray emission spectra of laser plasmas with the aid of nuclear photographic emulsions. The spectra recorded on emulsions were compared with the spectra obtained with the aid of an x-ray camera obscura and an x-ray spectrograph. In the λ≤2 Å range the recorded spectra deviated from those expected for a Maxwellian distribution of the electron velocities.
