Multichannel optical waveguide
A. S. Belanov, E. M. Dianov
Abstract:
A theoretical investigation is made of a multichannel optical waveguide consisting of a dielectric core coated by an optically less dense cladding, on which several layers alternating in density are deposited. Optically denser layers, separated by less dense layers, form additional waveguide channels. The theory of weakly coupled waves is used to calculate the cross-talk noise and recommendations are given on the choice of waveguide parameters.
