Abstract:
A study was made of the influence of microbending of fiber waveguides on their total losses, depending on the numerical aperture of the guide. Measurements were made also of the total losses in fiber waveguides before and after assembly of an optical cable. The total losses of guides with a numerical aperture of $\sim0,30$ were not affected significantly by cabling.
