Stabilization of cw laser radiation power by an external control element

Abstract:
An analysis is made of the characteristics of an active method for suppressing fluctuations of the output power of a cw laser, by an external control element, to the level of noise in the detection system. A description is given of two complementary experimental systems for the stabilization of the output power of a $CO_2$-laser, intended to suppress slow and fast fluctuations with fluctuation-suppression coefficients exceeding $10^2$.
