Electrooptic radiation modulators utilizing semiconductor ridged waveguides

Abstract:
Investigations of phase-polarization and amplitude modulation of radiation are reported. Effective control voltages of $\thicksim10$ V were obtained for a modulation depth of $\thicksim70$ %. A radiation deflector utilizing an array of channel waveguides was investigated.
