Abstract:
An analysis was made of the operation of a two-pass neodymium pulse-periodic amplifier with a mirror based on stimulated Brillouin scattering. An average output radiation power of 0.5 W was reached in the absence of depolarization when a cylindrical active element made of KNFS-type glass was used. An output energy of 0.4 J at a pulse repetition frequency up to 1 Hz and a divergence close to the diffraction limit were obtained.
