Abstract: An analysis is made of the influence of the parameters of the pump radiation (power density, divergence, statistical properties of the pump regarded as a random field) and of the scattering medium (specific gain, interaction length) on the complex conjugacy between the Stokes and pump wavefronts in stimulated Brillouin backscattering.
