Self-sustained discharge with bulk photoionization impurities in rare gases

Abstract:
The possibility of a self-sustained discharge burning in rare gases with bulk photoionization of impurities is considered. The average electron density in such a discharge is governed not only by the field intensity but also by the optical thickness of the discharge.
