Abstract:
The main primary processes in the photolysis of C3F7I (λ =254 nm) were found to be photodissociation into C3F7 and two iodine atoms in the states 2P1/2 (absolute quantum yield ΦI* = 0.95+0.05–0.08) and 2P3/2 (ΦI=0.05). The photodissociation of CF3I, C3F7I, and CF3CFICF3 in the vacuum ultraviolet (λ=155–175 nm) gave the following results: ΦI*=0.0±0.1 for the 2P1/2 state in all three cases; ΦI=0.6±0.1 (CF3I) and 0.4±0.1 (C3F7I and CF3CFICF3) for the 2P3/2 state. The photodissociation of perfluoropropyl iodides produced also CF3I or CF3 (Φ=0.15) and C3F6 (Φ=0.03). The results obtained were analyzed.
