Abstract: Laser excitation methods were used in a study of the kinetics of conversion of infrared into visible radiation in Yb3+- and Er3+-activated La2O2S, The experimental time dependences of the intensity of the visible luminescence of the Er3+ ions were in good agreement with the calculated curves. The mechanisms of infrared excitation of the visible Er3+ luminescence were identified and a device was developed for visualization of the radiation of pulse and cw neodymium glass and garnet lasers emitting at ~1.06μ.
