Effect of thermoelastic stresses and nonlinear refraction on second harmonic generation in lithium iodate crystals

A. A. Kazakov, V. A. Konovalov, E. A. Shalaev
Abstract: Estimates were made of the effect of thermoelastic stresses and nonlinear refraction on the energy efficiency of second harmonic generation in lithium iodate crystals and the results were checked experimentally. It was found that these effects reduced considerably the conversion efficiency of a lithium iodate crystal when the average power of the fundamental frequency radiation increased.
