Relative efficiency of the pumping of an YAG:Nd3+ laser during prolonged operation of xenon, krypton, and xenon-krypton pulse-discharge lamps

Abstract: An investigation was made of the influence of the gas filling of prototype pulse-discharge lamps on the efficiency of a neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser. The lamps were filled with xenon, krypton, and their mixtures and they were operated for a long time. It was found that the best results were obtained using a 50–50% xenon-krypton mixture.
