Investigation of pulse stimulated emission from gold vapor

Abstract: An investigation was made of pulse stimulated emission of visible and ultraviolet radiation from dischargeexcited gold vapor mixed with various buffer gases (helium, neon, argon, and xenon). The average output power of a mixture containing neon was 2.1 W in the visible range (efficiency 0.1%) and about 0.2 W in the ultraviolet.
