Interference microscope with a frequency shift for the investigation of the refractive-index profiles of glass fibers

V. P. Koronkevich, V. A. Khanov
Abstract: A description is given of the optical part of an interference microscope designed for the investigation of local phase inhomogeneities of transparent media. A frequency shift of one of the interfering beams makes it possible to increase the precision of the measurements and to automate them. The results are given of investigations of the refractive-index profiles of glass-fiber waveguides.
