Ultimate power characteristics of a neodymium-glass laser at high pulse repetition frequencies

V. G. Dmitriev, S. K. Mamonov, O. O. Silichev, A. A. Fomichev
Abstract: An investigation was made of the power characteristics of a neodymium-glass laser near the damage threshold of the active element. Calculations of these characteristics were made for GLS1 and GLS4 glasses assuming different pump pulse repetition frequencies (1–100 Hz), dimensions and other parameters of the active element and pump radiation. By optimizing the laser resonator, output powers close to the calculated values were obtained experimentally at frequencies of 20–100 Hz.
