Pumping system with high specific energy characteristics, designed for an industrial CO2 laser

Abstract: A report is given of the development and preliminary tests on a system for the excitation of a CO2 laser pumped by transverse dc discharge. A specific output power 5 kW/m was obtained and there were no electrical power losses in a balanced resistor used in the discharge supply circuit.
