Interaction of laser radiation with matter. Laser plasma

Structure of a steady-state corona formed by irradiation of a cylindrical target

P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: An analysis is made of the problem of the hydrodynamics of a steady-state corona formed by the action of powerful laser radiation on a cylindrical target. Universal dependences describing this process are presented in the form of graphs and asymptotic expansions. At sufficiently low radiation intensities the critical point coincides with the isothermal Jouguet point, whereas the adiabatic Jouguet point is located elsewhere.
