Ultraviolet nitrogen laser with two active regions

Abstract: A nitrogen laser with two active regions was constructed. The characteristics of this laser were investigated and an output energy of 20 mJ was attained. The duration of the output pulses was 5 nsec and the repetition frequencies were 1–15 Hz. Synchronous operation of a two-chamber nitrogen laser with a transverse discharge was demonstrated.
