Space-time characteristics of pulses emitted from a double-discharge CO2 laser

N. P. Datskevich, D. Yu. Zaroslov, A. S. El'chaninov, E. K. Karlova, N. V. Karlov, I. O. Kovalev, G. P. Kuz'min
Abstract: A space-time dependence of the shape of the radiation pulses was observed when the aperture of a laser beam was scanned with a detector. This was attributed to a strong inhomogeneity of the population inversion in the transverse direction of the active medium in a double-discharge CO2 laser. A detailed description of the laser is given.
