Modulation-spectral investigation of inhomogeneities in optically transparent media

V. A. Zubov, N. A. Shatokhina

P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: A method for recording the distribution of the intensity of the incident probe radiation and of the probe radiation after a preliminary known spatial modulation is proposed and analysed. This method is intended for analysis of the structure of optical inhomogeneities in transparent objects. The information obtained makes it possible to determine the amplitude — phase structure of a function which describes the action of an object on the radiation transmitted by it and, consequently, represents the structure of this object.
