Nonisothermal dynamics of amplification in a two-component semiconductor laser

Abstract:
It is shown that fast heating or cooling of carriers stimulated by the intracavity photon field has a considerable influence on the rate of saturation of the gain in parts of a two-component injection laser and it can either enhance or reduce picosecond pulsations.
