Physical processes in lasers

Energy characteristics of resonant stimulated Raman scattering of CO2 laser radiation in NH3

A. P. Dyad'kin, O. V. Shpilyun
Abstract: An investigation was made of the energy characteristics of resonant stimulated Raman scattering of CO2 laser radiation in NH3 due to the Gs( 5,0) →Iv2s(5,0) transition. The resonant stimulated Raman scattering (RSTRS) lasing threshold was determined for circularly polarized pump radiation. Differences were found in the spectral dependences of the RSTRS gain above and below the frequency of the resonant transition in the 67-μm region. The influence of nitrogen on far-infrared lasing was investigated.
