Abstract: It was found that when an Ne–NF3 mixture was excited by a transverse discharge the efficiency of lasing at λ = 585.3 nm rose when the pump power was reduced to ~ 0.1 MW/cm3. Lasing at λ = 794.8 nm was obtained in an Ar–NF3 mixture pumped by an electron beam.
