Stability of continuously pumped pulse-periodic YAG:Nd3+

L. A. Sitsevaya, L. N. Soms, A. I. Stepanov
Abstract: An investigation is made of the stability of the characteristics of Q-switched radiation from continuously pumped neodymium-doped aluminum garnet lasers operated under stable periodic conditions in systems with Q-switching and cavity dumping. The ranges of stable operation of periodically Q-switched lasers are determined analytically. The dependences of the fluctuations of the maximum pulse power Pm and pulse duration on the pump fluctuations and losses are determined. It is shown that a stability of Pm ~10–2% is technically feasible.
