Microscanning method for investigation of the intensity distribution in an injection laser beam

Abstract:
The distribution of the intensity across a laser beam was investigated by a new microscanning method in which an injection laser with an extremely small photosensitive area was used as a photodetector. The intensity distributions were determined for a beam formed by an array of injection lasers coupled by active Y junctions. The results made it possible to study the transformation of the near field into the far field.
