Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the stimulated emission kinetics of a copper vapor laser with a photorefractive-crystal nonlinear mirror exhibiting both local and nonlocal responses. Lasing was obtained for the first time in this system using a photorefractive medium with a dominant local response.
