Control of laser radiation parameters

Use of disperse two-phase media in control of the laser radiation characteristics

A. N. Kolerov, G. E. Epikhina
Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the use of disperse media consisting of alkali halide crystals containing color centers (LiF:F2+, LiF:F2, or NaF:F2+), suspended in an alcohol, as bleachable laser switches and "soft" apertures. Excitation of a colloidal solution with coherent radiation resulted in stimulated emission of infrared radiation.
