Interaction of laser radiation with matter. Laser plasma

Influence of the laser pulse duration on the optical strength of infrared optical materials

Abstract: Direct experiments were used to determine the pulse duration at which there was a change in the mechanism of damage to real infrared optical materials. The optical strength of KCl single crystals exposed to laser radiation pulses of 10–9 – 104 s duration was determined by way of example.
