Collisionless dissociation mechanism and vibrational spectrum structure of degenerate modes of symmetric molecules

S. S. Alimpiev, N. B. Afanas'ev, N. V. Karlov, B. G. Sartakov
Abstract: Observations were made of the structure of the linear absorption spectrum of the 3ν3 band of the SF6 molecule associated with anharmonic splitting of the degenerate vibrational levels. Estimates were made of the intramode anharmonicity constants of SF6. The results permit conclusions to be drawn on the collisionless dissociation mechanism of polyatomic symmetric molecules.
