Mode selection in ring-resonator dye lasers

Full-text PDF (574 kB) Citations (3)
Abstract: Experimental results are presented on mode selection in a cw organic-dye laser with a ring resonator. By introducing optical anisotropy into the resonator (a Faraday element combined with an optically active crystalline quartz element), it was possible to concentrate up to 60% of the multimode free-oscillation power in a single axial mode. A comparison is made with other methods of mode selection in dye lasers.
