Gas lasers

Influence of a magnetic field on the energy distribution in the working zone of a gas laser excited by an electron beam

V. V. Ryzhov, I. Yu. Turchanovskiĭ
Abstract: A numerical analysis is made of the transport of electrons in matter in the presence of magnetic fields. It is shown that the energy absorbed in the interior of a gas laser increases approximately twofold on application of a magnetic field. The results are given of a calculation dealing with electron-beam pumping of an amplifier with a large transverse cross section.
