Calculations of the energy characteristics of a pulsed HF chemical laser with a spherical telescopic resonator

A. A. Stepanov, V. A. Shcheglov
Abstract: A method of calculating the energy characteristics of a pulsed HF chemical laser with a telescopic resonator formed by spherical mirrors is described and results are presented. A comparison is made with the case of a planar resonator. An investigation is made of photoinitiated short-pulse emission conditions. It is shown that, in order to improve the directionality of the radiation from these lasers, it is advisable to use telescopic resonators with high magnifications M~10–100.
