Calculations of the energy efficiency of resonators in an oxygen–iodine chemical laser

V. N. Azyazov, V. I. Igoshin, V. A. Katulin, N. L. Kupriyanov
Abstract: A simple calculation model is proposed for a cw oxygen–iodine chemical laser. The model can be used for rapid estimates of the resonator energy efficiency and for optimization. It is found that in regimes with a high resonator efficiency, the intracavity intensity may be much lower than the saturation intensity and the limiting beam loads on the mirrors.
