Abstract:
An investigation was made of the luminescence spectra and of the lasing properties of a crystal of gadolinium scandium aluminum garnet activated with chromium and erbium. The lifetime of the 4I11/2 level was determined and schemes of the Stark sublevels of the 4I11/2 and 4I13/2 levels of Er3+ were constructed. The lasing properties of the crystal (λL = 2.828 μm) were investigated in the free-lasing regime at room temperature.
