Efficient room-temperature lasing (λ =2.088 µ) of yttrium scandium gallium garnet activated with chromium, thulium, and hoimium ions

Abstract:
An yttrium scandium gallium garnet crystal activated with chromium, thulium, and holmium ions was investigated. A differential Iasing efficiency of 3.1% was obtained (for the 5I7 → 5I8 transition in the Ho3+ ions) at room temperature and the emission wavelength was 2.088 µ.
