Influence of free convection on droplet aerosol bleaching

B. P. Gerasimov, T. G. Elizarova, A. P. Sukhorukov
Abstract: An analysis is made of a model problem of optical creation of a steady-state cleared channel in a cloud under free convection conditions. A dimensional approach is used as the basis of classification of possible types of thermal and concentration convection. Three specific types of free convection (weak, moderate, and advanced) are established. The ranges of the parameters of optical beams needed to ensure the formation of a cleared channel are determined.
