Abstract: The reported results were obtained as part of an investigation of lead-tin chalcogenide lasers with spatial confinement. Stimulated emission was obtained from double heterostructures in which the active PbSnTe layer was grown by liquid epitaxy and the heterojunction was formed by vapor epitaxy of PbTe.
