Abstract: A description is given of a cw gasdynamic laser utilizing the products of combustion of a benzene-air mixture. Values of the gain are reported in the temperature range 850–1700°K at a pressure of ~30 atm. The experimental results are compared with calculations and with earlier experiments on CO–H2 mixtures (carried out using the same apparatus).
