Energy characteristics of an electron-beam-excited HF chemical laser

Abstract: An investigation was made of the stimulated emission from an electron-beam-excited HF chemical laser utilizing F2–H2–SF6 and SF6–H2 mixtures. Conditions for increasing the efficiency of conversion of the pump energy into laser radiation were investigated. A considerable increase in the output energy was obtained on application of an external electrostatic field.
