Selective nonresonant photodissociation of molecules

Abstract: It is shown that the probabilities of transitions from the ground to highly excited vibrational states of a molecule depend strongly on the binding energy and atomic masses. An analysis is made of the possibility of using this effect in selective photodissociation of molecules of different isotopic compositions.
