Abstract: It is suggested that cryogenic targets be delivered to the focus of a laser fusion chamber by a "cryogenic gun" system based on the principle of electromagnetic acceleration of a special ferromagnetic plunger carrying a target. The performance of the acceleration unit of the cryogenic gun is considered. Experimental results are reported.
