Abstract:
A numerical model allowing for the complete Stark structure of a laser transition resulting in the emission at λ ≈ 1.06 μm in silicate and phosphate neodymium glasses demonstrated that it should be possible to utilize 70–85% of the energy stored in the active medium and this medium is used to amplify nanosecond pulses under saturation conditions.
