Formation of laser beams with improved angular characteristics

An analysis is made of the possibility of transformation of laser fields by a two-element optical system. It is found that the transformation results depend only slightly on the transverse mode structure of the initial field. Experimental results are reported to illustrate the improvement in the angular characteristics of transformed beams.
